D3 Now Authorized to Distribute Alias Products

May 1, 2008

Springfield, Missouri - May 1, 2008 - D3 TECHNOLOGIES, the leader in delivering Autodesk manufacturing solutions, is proud the announce they are now authorized to sell and distribute Autodesk Alias products including Alias Studio and Alias Showcase. Alias is a leading developer of 3D graphics technology, creating software that optimizes the creative design process with sketching, modeling, and visualization tools.

“The addition of Alias products to our line of solutions is a perfect fit for D3 and our customers. The need for digital prototyping in manufacturing design is quickly growing. With this addition, we will be able to provide our customers with a more integrated approach that simplifies their design to manufacturing process. Alias offers an environment in which our partners will be able to create, visualize, and share their ideas, without wasting money on costly physical prototypes,” states Kevin Schlack, President of D3.

Autodesk AliasStudio software is a concept design package, offering specialized tools for developing and communicating designs. Its industry leading sketching, modeling, and visualization tools help designers realize their ideas in a single environment. Giving them a tool to build models and accurate, machinable surfaces, ensuring that what is manufactured is true to the design.

Autodesk Showcase software aids in the decision making process of building a digital prototype. It enables designers to create accurate, realistic imagery from 3D CAD data and then share that data to help visualize environmental context and brand character. It helps users present and review models in an environment in which team members can make decisions either locally or remotely, speeding up the design review process.

Along with this, D3 would like to announce that they have added a talented new member to their team, Ryan Johnson. As the Industrial Design Specialist for D3, Johnson has several years experience in the design and mechanical engineering field. At his previous employer, Ryan worked extensively with 3D Studio VIZ, used to create renderings for brochures and websites as well as animations and videos. This product is closely related to the Autodesk AliasStudio software, so the transition for Johnson was effortless. Shortly after coming to D3, Ryan received formal Autodesk Alias training to help him prepare for the future endeavors with the company.

“I’m eager to work with our clients and show them how Autodesk AliasStudio can help to improve their engineering efficiency,” says Johnson. “The software will help them speed up the design process, so they can get ideas to their customers quicker and in a more cost effective way.”
