Springfield, MO - D3 Technologies, one of the leading providers of Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions, today announced that it has recently acquired the assets of a local engineering firm, previously known as Mills Engineering LLC, creating a new division focused on providing engineering services to D3’s clients. Along with this acquisition, D3 has gained a new Director of Engineering Services, Brian Mills, former owner of Mills Engineering LLC based in Springfield, MO.
The addition of engineering services expands D3’s capabilities to support our manufacturing customers. This is a natural extension of D3’s core competencies of design and manufacturing that have been our hallmark for nearly two decades, said Kevin Schlack, President of D3. “We see Brian Mills as the ideal individual to lead the Engineering Services Division. Brian brings nearly 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and engineering services industries. He has been a key provider of such services to many of D3’s customers for almost 10 years and we are excited to now have him as part of our team.”
Prior to joining D3, Brian Mills owned and operated Mills Engineering LLC, providing engineering and design services, primarily to manufacturers and end users of pressure vessels, storage tanks and related equipment. Prior to his career in the engineering services industry, Brian worked as an engineer and manager in the manufacturing industry for over 20 years.

We developed and grew Mills Engineering to serve over 60 clients regionally, nationally and even internationally, reaching into Mexico and Canada.” said Brian Mills. “I look forward to applying my experience and expanding D3’s professional services through the realization of its engineering division. This new division will help facilitate the expansion of its footprint nationally, meeting the needs of the growing market for outsourced, project-based engineering in the manufacturing industry.”
