We have done extensive AutoLISP programming over the last 18 years. It has reduced errors and increased productivity tremendously. There are rumors around the office that AutoCAD will be getting rid of AutoLISP eventually. Is this true?

Thanks for you reply Hatch.
It seems our company is pushing to do all of our work in Inventor. I am not sure if it is the right way to go. They want us to see if we can customize Inventor to meet our needs. They have been told that AutoCAD will be going away and only AutoCAD LT will be around thus AutoLISP will be a thing of the past. If this was the case why does AutoCAD seem to be getting bigger and better with each version? |

AutoCAD isn't going away. It still does some things better than Inventor - Process piping is one.
If your going to customize Inventor, I'd recommend using .Net and not going with VBA. I personally prefer c# or C++. I started out with VBA but I cannot stand to look at VB code anymore. |
