Autodesk Fusion Team - Is it Right for My Company?

By RJ, Posted August 4, 2017

There I was in his office, talking over Fusion Team and how important it was for all companies to be using it with Fusion 360.  I described the cons of not having a Fusion Team Hub, the benefits having it could add.

"But why do they need it?" he asked again.  "Can't they still share files, even without it?"

I explained again, but the words passed in one ear and out the other.  Sometimes I think just the mention of "cloud" makes a concept more foggy to some people, so I tried to relate it to computer systems most people are already comfortable with.

"Ok, look at it this way," I said as I grabbed a whiteboard marker and started sketching out the way I saw it.  I don't know what it is about illustrating it, but I could see as the confused look in the eyes transitioned into understanding.  He finally grasped what we were talking about.

With that experience, I decided I'd share with our readers (or in this case viewers) what we know about Fusion Team.

  • Why should a company using Fusion 360 also be taking advantage of Fusion Team?
  • What problems might they face if they don't use Fusion Team?
  • Do you still need it, even if you're not modeling, but only doing CAM, Simulation, or Visualization in Fusion 360?

So, how did I do?  Are you thinking now that maybe YOU should be looking into Fusion Team?

You probably still have questions:

  • What do I need to do to set up my company's Team Hub?
  • How much does it cost for a Team Hub?
  • How do I invite other users, and do they cost me also?
  • I heard something about Live Design Reviews in a web browser...  I need more information!

Feel free to reach out to our team and we can discuss these questions (and demands).  You can also post your questions below.  There have been some changes, so the answers may not be what you think!  Maybe I'll even revisit these in a future blog post, who knows..
