Autodesk Fusion 360: Spring 2017 Roadmap Update

Earlier last year it seems I was always referring people to the Fusion 360 Roadmap.  How cool is it that the Fusion 360 team not only took user feedback seriously, but also had a public plan of their features and improvements!  However, the months stretched on and the content got older and older.  There were things on the roadmap that were already released and ancient technology (in Fusion-time anyway) but still listed as upcoming. I stopped bringing up the roadmap quite so often.  I wondered honestly whether the Roadmap was an experiment gone bad.  Lat…

Autodesk Fusion 360 Saves the Day! (excuse the pun)

Buy Fusion 360 Add Fusion 360 to your cart to subscribe now I was doing some complex surfacing (modeling the Fusion 360 logo, of course) when I broke some law of mathematics with the operation I asked Fusion 360 to compute.  Now, I’m not saying it wouldn’t have started responding again if I had enough patience to wait on it, but as I sometimes do, I started clicking and hitting the escape button too many times.  You know what’s next, I hit the trusty old ctrl + shift + esc keys to pull up the Windows Task Manager, and I killed it. D3 Sales Team Renderings in Fusion 360

Boy, did I catch some flak for calling out our sales team on that last post! Words were said, things were thrown… To be fair, we do have a pretty great sales team. I just like to give them a hard time, as any good tech guy should. In order to appease them I’ve [willingly] agreed to share some more of their awesome Fusion 360 work in the blog. In case you’re just catching up, some of the D3 sales team (who had never used Fusion 360 before) recently imported this SolidWorks model into Fusion to give it some quick rendering love. Check out our last blog po…

Autodesk Fusion 360, Your New...Marketing Tool?

Above image created with 10 minutes of work and <10 minutes cloud rendering One of D3’s marketing guys asked me this the other day: “Where are you getting all these stunning and inspirational Fusion 360 images you’re submitting for the Blog?”  Well, ok, maybe I’m embellishing a little…  But he was sure there was some graphics database I was scouring for just the right image. The answer: Fusion 360! Most of the time I have such a specific idea of the image I’m looking for that even if there is a database of Fusion 360 or tech-related imagery out there,…

F360, Built Fusion Tough

So, I’m guessing people have been trying to sell you on Fusion 360 (F360).  Is it the same old Autodesk vs SOLIDWORKS fight, you know the, “Ford or Chevrolet”?   In this case, it shouldn’t be.  Fusion 360 in its current state is more like adding all those cool options we can’t live without to your grandma’s car.  You know the ones; remote start, Bluetooth for our phones (you need to be safe), backup cameras, and what is becoming my new favorite, blind zone detection (Okay maybe I’ve had an issue with that in the past).  Are you confused yet?  Let’s break…
